Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 218°C
  2. Add egg, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract and salt to a clean large mixing bowl
  3. Whisk until well combined
  4. Add unsalted butter and whole milk to the large mixing bowl
  5. Whisk until combined
  6. Spray a clean rimmed baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  7. Transfer content of large mixing bowl to rimmed baking sheet
  8. Arrange white sandwich bread in the baking sheet
  9. Flip bread over to coat both sides.
  10. Bake - approx 12 min, 218°C, low rack
  11. Turn on broiler and move baking sheet to top rack.
  12. Broil in broiler until browned - approx 2 min, top rack
  13. Remove onto cooling rack - approx 1 min
  14. Serve immediately with butter and syrup.
