Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 170°C
  2. Line 2 clean baking sheets with parchment paper
  3. Add unsalted butter and granulated sugar to a clean large mixing bowl
  4. Cream together until smooth
  5. Add egg to the dough and mix
  6. Add all purpose flour, baking powder and poppy seeds to a clean medium bowl
  7. Whisk until blended
  8. Add dry ingredients to dough
  9. Add lemon to the dough
  10. Mix until just combined
  11. Scoop dough onto 2 baking sheets
  12. Bake until golden brown - 12 min, 170°C
  13. Let cool until firm - 5 min
  14. Transfer onto cooling rack
