The classic millionaire’s shortbread, but made even better with the addition of salted caramel and chopped, toasted hazelnuts. Cut into bite-size chunks if you want it to go even further!

- 4 tablespoons

- All purpose flour
- 225 g

- Unsalted butter
- 325 g

- Golden caster sugar
- 90 g

- 1 pinch

- Condensed milk
- 380 g

- Golden syrup
- 100 g

- Salt
- ½ teaspoon

- Milk chocolate
- 350 g

Step preview
- Pre-heat oven - 180°C
- Line a clean cake tin with parchment paper
- Add all purpose flour and unsalted butter to a clean food processor bowl
- Pulse until crumbs form - high speed
- Add golden caster sugar and salt to the food processor bowl
- Pulse until combined - high speed
- Transfer content of food processor bowl to cake tin
- Spread evenly
- Bake - 30 min, 180°C
- Let cool
- Add unsalted butter, condensed milk, golden syrup and salt to a clean saucepan
- Cook until melted while stirring occasionally - low heat
- Cook until golden brown and continue mixing - 7 min, medium heat
- Let cool - 5 min
- Transfer content of saucepan to cake tin
- Let cool completely
- Melt a clean heatproof bowl - medium-high heat
- Transfer content of heatproof bowl to cake tin
- Sprinkle with hazelnuts
- Let cool completely
- Cut into squares
