This recipe comes from ‘The Weekend Table’ - the newest, beautiful cookbook by Tenina (link in bio). I don’t like runny yoghurt. There are those of you out there who do. I know... but not me. I like a scoop of yoghurt as opposed to a slurp. This recipe will work across all models of Thermomix. No need to use the yoghurt setting in the TM6. It is important for yoghurt to not be disturbed during the setting period, thus the oven.

Step preview

  1. Place milk and powdered milk into the Thermomix bowl
  2. Heat 15 minutes/80°C/speed 4
  3. Allow this mixture to cool in the Thermomix bowl until temperature has reduced to under 50°C
  4. Meanwhile, clean two 600 ml jars
  5. Preheat your oven to 40°C/105°F
  6. Place jars and lids into the oven to dry
  7. When your mixture has reached correct temperature, add yoghurt starter
  8. Blend 10 sec/speed 4
  9. For fruited pot set yoghurt: Prior to putting the yoghurt into sterilised jars, place enough cold jam into the bottom of the jars to create a layer that you can see. Top with the yoghurt and proceed with the oven step
  10. Pour mixture into jars and seal with lids
  11. Place into the oven for 4 hours
  12. Remove from oven and cool before refrigerating
  13. Use as per any other yoghurt
  14. Reserve 50g as the starter for your next batch
