Step preview

  1. Add butter and olive oil to a clean large cast iron skillet
  2. Heat - medium heat
  3. Fry until softened - 15 min, medium heat
  4. Stir in superfine sugar to the large cast iron skillet
  5. Fry - 10 min, medium heat
  6. Stir in all purpose flour to the large cast iron skillet
  7. Add beer, beef stock, bay leaves, worcestershire sauce and salt & pepper to the large cast iron skillet
  8. Boil - medium heat
  9. Transfer content of large cast iron skillet to slow cooker bowl and cover
  10. Cook in slow cooker until soft - approx 5 hr, low heat
  11. Add baguette to the large cast iron skillet
  12. Toast then set aside - medium-low heat
  13. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese
  14. Drizzle with worcestershire sauce
  15. Broil until melted - 10 min, 250°C
  16. Serve 4 clean large serving bowls
