This white bean and ham soup is so easy and flavourful. It freezes beautifully and makes a fantastic lunch or supper any time of year. This recipe calls for cooked navy beans. These can be cooked at home or canned. If you are using canned beans, you will need two cans drained.

Step preview

  1. Add a clean frying pan while stirring occasionally - medium heat
  2. Add - 3 min, medium heat
  3. Transfer content of frying pan to stockpot
  4. Add cooked ham and carrot to the stockpot
  5. Stir until just cooked - medium heat
  6. Add tinned haricot beans to the stockpot
  7. Add vegetable stock, black pepper, salt, dried thyme, bay leaves and rosemary to the stockpot
  8. Stir
  9. Simmer while stirring occasionally - 15 min, medium heat
  10. Serve
