Step preview

  1. Grease a clean madeleine pan generously
  2. Add plain flour, baking powder and cocoa powder to a clean medium bowl then set aside
  3. Add egg and granulated sugar to a clean large mixing bowl
  4. Beat until fluffy - medium speed
  5. Add unsalted butter to a clean medium glass bowl
  6. Melt - low heat
  7. Add honey, vanilla extract and milk to the medium glass bowl and mix
  8. Transfer honey syrup to the large bowl with eggs
  9. Mix batter until combined - medium speed
  10. Sift dry ingredients into batter gradually while mixing
  11. Add chocolate chips
  12. Chill in fridge - 30 min
  13. Pre-heat oven - 200°C
  14. Spoon batter into madeleine pan
  15. Bake until golden brown and springy to touch - 6 min, 200°C
  16. Turn out onto cooling rack
