- Add milk, granulated sugar, ground cardamom and active dried yeast to a clean large mixing bowl
- Mix briefly until combined
- Let rest - 10 min
- Add until combined
- Add plain flour and salt to the dough
- Mix until dough forms - paddle attachment
- Knead - 2 min, dough hook
- Add bit by bit while mixing - dough hook
- Cover a clean medium bowl with plastic wrap and cover
- Let rise until doubled - 30 min
- Punch down and cover
- Let rise until doubled - 30 min
- Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper
- Turn out dough on lightly-floured surface
- Roll out dough into logs
- Plait dough on baking sheet and cover
- Let rise until springy to touch - 30 min
- Pre-heat oven - 191°C
- Add ground cardamom, heavy cream and egg yolk to a clean small bowl
- Brush the bread until coated
- Bake until golden brown - 20 min, 191°C
- Serve
