Rich, meaty bolognese without the need to simmer for hours on end. Serve stirred through spaghetti with plenty of parmesan.

- Minced beef
- 350 g

- 300 ml

- Spaghetti
- 400 g

- Tomato sauce
- 300 g

- Dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon

- Salt & pepper
- as needed

- Parmesan cheese
- 4 teaspoons

Step preview
- Add olive oil to a clean large saucepan
- Heat - medium heat
- Add carrot, onion, celery stalk and portobello mushroom to the large saucepan
- Cook while stirring occasionally - 3 min, medium heat
- Add garlic clove to the sauce
- Cook until softened - 3 min, medium heat
- Add minced beef to the sauce
- Heat - high heat
- Cook until browned - 3 min, high heat
- Add water and salt to a clean large saucepan
- Boil
- Add spaghetti to the pasta
- Cook until al dente
- Add tomato sauce, water, lemon and dried oregano to the sauce
- Season with salt & pepper
- Reduce heat
- Cook gently until thickened - 10 min, low heat
- Drain pasta
- Transfer pasta to large serving bowl
- Spoon sauce into large serving bowl
- Grate parmesan cheese into the large serving bowl to taste
- Serve immediately
