A lovely old-fashioned oatmeal raisin cookie, just like grandmother used to make!

Step preview

  1. Line 2 clean baking sheets with parchment paper
  2. Add rolled oats, plain flour, wheat germ, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, ground cinnamon and salt to a clean large mixing bowl
  3. Whisk briefly until blended
  4. Add unsalted butter, light brown sugar and granulated sugar to a clean stand mixer bowl
  5. Cream together - 2 min, medium heat
  6. Add egg to the dough one by one while mixing
  7. Add vanilla extract to the dough
  8. Mix until combined - medium speed
  9. Add raisins to the dough
  10. Mix until mixture comes together - medium heat
  11. Chill in fridge - 20 min
  12. Pre-heat oven - 175°C
  13. Scoop dough onto 2 baking sheets
  14. Press lightly
  15. Bake until browned at edges - 12 min, 175°C
  16. Let cool - approx 5 min
  17. Transfer onto cooling rack
