This Stew brings me straight back to my childhood, every weekend my Dad would cook up a large pot of Irish stew for the family to enjoy, easy to prepare and everyone in our family loves it

Step preview

  1. Pat the beef chuck chunks dry and season with salt and pepper
  2. Add the flour to a bowl and season with some salt and pepper
  3. Add the beef pieces into the flour to get a coating on each piece. Once coated place back on the cutting board
  4. Add oil to the inner pot
  5. Pre-heat inner pot on Sauté for 30 mins
  6. When the Panasonic Pro Plus has finished pre-heating add the beef pieces in a single layer
  7. Brown the beef here on both sides for 2.5 mins
  8. Once all the beef has been browned remove the beef and place them back on the cutting board
  9. Add the onions with some oil to the crusted inner pot and Sauté here for 1.5-2 mins while stirring
  10. Carefully add the wine to deglaze the pot, mixing well to get the beef crust from the bottom of the inner pot for 2 mins
  11. Add the carrots, celery, salt, stock, thyme and mix to combine
  12. Add the browned beef back into the inner pot followed by the potato halves
  13. Secure the lid onto the Pro Plus
  14. Pressure Cook on Max for 40 mins, then allow for Natural Release 10 mins, then Quick Release the remaining pressure
  15. Serve each portion in a bowl
