Cheesy potatoes to accompany any roast dinner

Step preview
- To a microwave-safe deep bowl add the flour and butter
- Microwave on High for 45 seconds
- Using a spatula mix in the melted butter and flour to form a paste
- Add the milk, crushed garlic and whisk together as best as possible
- Microwave on High for 2 mins
- Whisk here for 30 seconds to remove any lumps
- Microwave on High for 30 seconds
- Whisk
- Microwave on High for 30 seconds
- Whisk
- Microwave for a final 30 seconds
- Whisk in the salt, pepper and cheese until the cheese is melted
- Whisk in the milk to slightly thin out the sauce and set aside
- Peel the potatoes and cut each one into 0.5cm slices and add them to your dish
- Drizzle them with some oil and seaon with salt and pepper
- Mix with your hands to get a light coating of oil on the potatoes
- Microwave on High for 3 mins
- Mix gently and microwave on High for a further 3 mins
- Pour the cheesy sauce over the potatoes and sprinkle the top with some more grated cheese
- Place the dish onto the wire rack
- Broil on High for 25 mins
- Serve hot or freeze in portions for later use
