Step preview

  1. Add granulated sugar, cornstarch and water to a clean saucepan
  2. Stir well until dissolved
  3. Cook slowly until firm
  4. Set aside
  5. Mix in egg yolk to the saucepan gradually and mix
  6. Cook until smooth and mix - approx 2 min, medium heat
  7. Add lime juice and lime zest to the saucepan
  8. Add egg white to a clean medium bowl
  9. Beat until stiff peaks form
  10. Add granulated sugar to the medium bowl and mix
  11. Add basic pie crust to a clean pie dish
  12. Transfer content of saucepan to pie dish
  13. Transfer content of medium bowl to pie dish
  14. Bake until golden brown - approx 20 min, 180°C
