Fragrant, spicy, pretty easy…don’t be put off by the ingredients list…not bad at all really. Hit up your local Asian supermarket and get cracking (not crackling, but speaking of which)…The only thing I could add to this salad to make it even better would be a bit of crispy crackling as a garnish along with the peanuts. It would be divine. Salivation is a wonderful thing, it’s OK; now wipe the screen.

Step preview

  1. Add garlic clove, fresh chili, lemongrass stalk, ground turmeric, sugar, chinese black vinegar, fish sauce and sesame oil to the TM5 bowl
  2. Blend - approx 10 sec, speed 9
  3. Transfer content of TM5 bowl to small bowl
  4. Add white pepper and cornflour to the TM5 bowl
  5. Blend - approx 6 sec, speed 6
  6. Scrape down sides of TM5 bowl
  7. Add ground pork to the TM5 bowl
  8. Transfer dressing to TM5 bowl
  9. Mix - approx 3 sec, reverse speed 2
  10. Marinate in fridge - 10 min
  11. Sauté - approx 10 min, Varoma, reverse speed 2
  12. Transfer content of TM5 bowl to medium bowl
  13. Add rice noodles and water to a clean medium bowl
  14. Cover until just cooked - approx 5 min
  15. Add white cabbage to the TM5 bowl bit by bit
  16. Add scallion to the TM5 bowl
  17. Blend - approx 3 sec, speed 4
  18. Scrape down sides of TM5 bowl
  19. Drain noodles
  20. Transfer noodles to large serving bowl
  21. Transfer meat to large serving bowl
  22. Transfer content of TM5 bowl to large serving bowl
  23. Top with cilantro, mint leaves and bean sprouts
  24. Sprinkle with peanuts
  25. Garnish with lime
  26. Serve
