Step preview

  1. Heat olive oil to a clean Dutch oven
  2. Add flank steak to the Dutch oven and fry bit by bit until browned, then set aside
  3. Add onion and red bell pepper to the Dutch oven
  4. Cook gently until softened - 10 min
  5. Add smoked paprika, marjoram and caraway seeds and cook while stirring occasionally - 1 min
  6. Add browned beef, beef stock, tomato purée and salt & pepper
  7. Heat until boiling while stirring occasionally
  8. Reduce heat, cover and cook until thickened - 2 hr, low heat
  9. Serve
