Step preview

  1. Add water and salt to a clean large saucepan
  2. Boil
  3. Cook pasta until al dente
  4. Melt unsalted butter a clean saucepan
  5. Add double cream to the saucepan
  6. Bring to the boil and simmer for 1 min until the sauce thickens
  7. Drain pasta and transfer it to the sauce
  8. Toss and simmer - low heat
  9. Add nutmeg, parmesan cheese and milk
  10. Season with salt & pepper
  11. Toss until coated - low heat
  12. Serve immediately with a scattering of grated Parmesan
