Step preview

  1. Add whole chicken, star anise pod, garlic clove, soy sauce, onion, carrot, ginger, fresh chili, rice vinegar and light brown sugar to a clean slow cooker bowl
  2. Add water and cilantro, then season with salt & pepper and cover
  3. Cook in slow cooker until cooked through - 5 hr 30 min, high heat
  4. Add water and egg noodles to a clean medium bowl
  5. Soak - 5 min
  6. Remove chicken from slow cooker bowl
  7. Cover slow cooker bowl with foil
  8. Add bok choy and snow pea to the slow cooker bowl and cover
  9. Cook in slow cooker - 10 min, high heat
  10. Drain noodles
  11. Transfer noodles to 4 large serving bowls
  12. Carve chicken, ladle broth into noodles and top with chicken and cilantro
