Harissa adds fragrant spiciness to this tasty mackerel and potato dish. Serve with plenty of warmed pitta breads to mop up the sauce.

- 300 ml

Step preview
- Add water to a clean saucepan
- Boil
- Add new potatoes to the potatoes
- Cook until tender - 5 min
- Drain
- Heat olive oil to a clean medium cast iron skillet
- Add onion to the medium cast iron skillet
- Fry until softened
- Stir in red bell pepper to the tomatoes
- Add yellow bell pepper to the tomatoes
- Stir in garlic clove to the tomatoes
- Fry - 3 min
- Stir in harissa, tomato, tomato paste and fish stock to the tomatoes
- Season with salt & pepper
- Boil
- Add potatoes to slow cooker bowl
- Add mackerel to the slow cooker bowl
- Transfer tomatoes to slow cooker bowl and cover
- Cook in slow cooker until tender - 6 hr, low heat
- Serve
