Dutch donuts are not like any old American donuts....they are well, Dutch! Get yourself organised and make these for a treat. AMAZING. More Serve with a bowl ganache for dipping if desired…or with jam or jelly of choice

Step preview

  1. Add golden caster sugar to the TM5 bowl
  2. Blitz with MC in place 10 sec, speed 10
  3. Then add fresh yeast, egg, ground nutmeg, water, butter and pink Himalayan salt flakes to the TM5 bowl
  4. Blend for 1 min, 37°C, speed 4
  5. Then add bread flour to the TM5 bowl
  6. Mix for 6 sec, speed 8
  7. Knead for 4 min, dough
  8. Set aside in floured silicone mat and allow to double in size
  9. Roll out into large rectangle and using scone cutter, cut into rounds
  10. Set aside to double again
  11. Add extra virgin olive oil to a clean large saucepan
  12. Heat - 170°C
  13. Cook each of doughnuts until light golden - 170°C
  14. When they are golden and puffed, remove quickly and place onto paper towels to cool slightly
  15. Dust generously with icing sugar whilst still warm
