Step preview

  1. Add bacon to a clean Dutch oven
  2. Cook until crispy - medium heat
  3. Add onion, smoked paprika and salt & pepper to a clean small bowl
  4. Transfer onion mixture to mixture
  5. Cook while stirring occasionally - approx 5 min
  6. Add brown sugar to a clean small bowl
  7. Stir sugar mixture into mixture
  8. Add bourbon and chicken stock to a clean glass measuring cup
  9. Pour liquid into mixture slowly
  10. Simmer until thickened while stirring occasionally - approx 10 min
  11. Add bourbon and chicken stock to a clean glass measuring cup
  12. Transfer liquid to mixture
  13. Reduce until thickened while stirring occasionally - approx 10 min
  14. Blend with stick blender until smooth
  15. Cook until thick - approx 10 min, low heat
  16. Mix in butter to a clean jar
  17. Let cool mixture
  18. Transfer mixture to jar
